Russia's Victory Day Parade: Putin Declares a 'Turning Point' in World History

Putin's Speech at Moscow Parade

Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that the world is at a "turning point" in history, in remarks delivered during Moscow's Victory Day parade on Tuesday. The parade, which commemorates the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, was scaled down this year due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Parade Highlights

The parade featured a display of military equipment, including tanks, missiles, and aircraft. Putin led the parade on horseback, accompanied by other high-ranking officials. The event culminated in a flyover by Russian military aircraft and a fireworks display.

In his speech, Putin drew parallels between the fight against Nazi Germany and Russia's current military campaign in Ukraine. He accused the West of supporting Ukrainian "neo-Nazis" and attempting to "dismember Russia." Putin declared that Russia would not allow its enemies to "bully" it into accepting their terms.
