Houston Temperatures Reach Record Highs Amidst Heat Wave

Scorching Conditions in the Lone Star State

The city of Houston, Texas, is sweltering under a relentless heat wave, with temperatures reaching unprecedented levels. According to the National Weather Service, the city experienced a high of 97 degrees Fahrenheit at 3:53 pm, setting a new record for the minimum temperature at that time. This comes after an equally scorching day on Tuesday, when the minimum temperature reached 91 degrees Fahrenheit at 2:53 pm.

Extreme Weather Warnings Issued

The extreme heat has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a warning for Houston, urging residents to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. The warning advises people to remain indoors during the peak heat hours, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid strenuous activity.

The oppressive conditions are not limited to Houston. Across the world, many cities are experiencing record-breaking heat, highlighting the urgency of addressing climate change.
